Just to add that when the camera was plugged into the switch the data light flickered but the status light was orange when all the other channels were green. I also tried swapping round the channels and the orange light moved with the camera connection.

Everything seems to be working fine and I am very happy with it.

Seems like maybe a handshake issue between the camera and switch. You may want to contact D-link about his and mention this to the switch and camera group at some point.

Now that you can successfully configure the camera via wired. You should be able to manually setup wireless using the DCS-5010L web UI, disconnect the wired connection, and start using wireless.
