Hi! Was away for 2 days and when i got back my wireless connection didnt work properly;

I can connect to my network but can't use internet or reach the router setup by internet.
When i reset router settings completly everything is fine, but as soon as I run the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard" and set up a password the same problem reappears and i don't get internet connection or can't reach the router (altho I am connected to the network).

Any ideas or suggestion appreciated, thanks!

• Has a Factory Reset been performed?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

• What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
• What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

• Ensure the default (dlink) SSID name is changed. Ensure that different SSID names are used between each WiFi 2.4/5Ghz radios. Can be anything and not something that's already in use by any neighbouring WiFi routers. Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
• What wireless modes are you using?
• 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
• Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz
• Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions.
• What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
• What wireless devices do you have connected?
• Ensure any devices with WiFi adapter drivers are updated.
• Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many? Use v3, its free.
• If you have any of these options, Try turning OFF or ON Short GI, WLAN Partition, Extra Wireless Protection and HT 20/40 Co-existence if you have it. Also testing with HT20/40Mhz Co-existence enabled will impact results as well. I prefer to use this option OFF. Recommended settings are default. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
• Enable WMM Enable Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
• Try setting Medium or Low power output settings and test again Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
• For routers with Smart Connect Technology , try disabling this feature and test. Under Wireless.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

Can you connect to the SSID name that appears on your devices wifi connection list?

I live in Sweden, EU.

Yeah I can connect to the SSID, but when I do I don't get any connection and can't access the router Also it's not the same as anyone elses around and I've tried with different ones...
The issue is not with the signal, it works fine until i finish the Wireless Network Setup Wizard.

What region are you located?

I presume there is something on the LT has not configured correctly...If other devices work.

LT? Sorry idk that one, also other devices doesn't work either once i've run the Wizard, I'm currently just using the factory settings

Can you manually set up the WiFi on the router under Setup/Wireless/Manual?

Aaaand I'm back, no that didn't work, had to change back into factory settings again, only changed the SSID and put on a WPA password.
When I connect to the SSID i get "Limited Access" (idk if that's the same translation used with english windows) to the network.

Ok, try this, set the routers wifi security to open or disable it temporarily. Then try to connect to the SSID with the LT. Be sure your LAN wire cable is not connected to the LT while you test this. Does the LT get connected and then access the Internet?

If it does, then try turning wifi security back on and set WPA and TPIK only and test the LT.

Changing the SSID wasn't any problem and it worked fine afterwards, the password however seems to be the issue (using WPA)

So did the LT connect with the OPEN security?

What is the Mfr and model of the LT and it's wireless adapter? You might check to see if there is any updated drivers for this wireless adapter on the LT.
There could be an issue with it's current driver not supporting security modes. WPA2 is recommended. If it's connecting in the OPEN, and not with WPA, then there is a problem with the wireless adapter on the LT. I recommend you contact the Mfr of the LT and ask for help and information regarding this.

Yeah the LT works with open security but not with WPA, same however goes for the other units such as smartphone etc.

The other devices work with OPEN and WPA? or just Open?

Just on open, doesn't work at all for them either with WPA (same thing, can connect to the network using the password but can't access internet)
