Firstly, forget entirely about IE11 on Windows 8 or 64bit Windows 7. If you have Windows 8.1, use the current default installation of Firefox (v38.0.5), with the latest default version of Java. These are, I believe, all 32bit versions unless you specifically install 64bit ones. Then allow Java to uninstall any old versions it finds.
I assume you have used the disk that came with the DNR to do the basic configuration? I also assume that the cameras are on the same LAN (no routers between them and the DNR or you), and that you have fixed their IP addresses (DNR and cameras) in your DHCP server. I don't know if that last step is 100% required, but it certainly removes one possible source of problems.
When you enter the IP address of the DNR322L, you should get a log in screen, followed by the "Live Video" screen that will tell you it needs Java to run. Firefox will pop-up a message, so Allow Java to "run now and remember". Then click on the "playback tab", and repeat the "allow Java to run and remember". Now go to "maintenance>system setup" and check or update the firmware to v2.1, dated 06/12/2014.
With all the above complete, log in to the DNR. You should get the live video screen, the "swirly" that runs as Java loads should happen with no prompts and your configured cameras should be listed in a box on the left hand side. Double click on a camera, you should get the live feed from that camera.
Let me know if it works to this point, then we'll continue!
By the way, this is all assuming you are logged on to your computer as an administrator and you have UAC in the default setting.
Also, as a "just in case we can avoid wasting time", if you have configured your cameras for scheduled recording (either 24/7 or motion based) you CANNOT use the manual record button on the live video screen. The two systems are mutually exclusive. Manual recording is for when you want to watch the screen and start/stop recording by button press, whilst scheduled recording is when you want the DNR to control it.
