Harddrives from DNS-320L in DNS-327L
« on: June 30, 2015, 02:42:43 AM »

Hi everybody

My DNS-320L is bricked. Only the blue LED blinks and the harddrives don't spin up anymore. The two harddrives should still be OK (hopefully). I plan to get a DNS-327L. Now my question. Is it possible to just move the harddrives from the DNS-320L into a DNS-327L (RAID1) without reformating or rebuilding the RAID?

You might see if there is some info here:

If not, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Meanwhile i could transfer to the new DNS-327. Its not possible to just move the harddrives to the new NAS. But i could access the data from one harddrive in the old NAS, copy it to PC, formating the drive in the new NAS and copying back data. Now i use the new NAS with single drive and back up data from it to an external NTFS USB drive.
