Hi

I just have a little question since yesterday...

When I log on to my router ( dir615) I type in my password, and I am logged... There is nothing stored on my machine like cookies.... And there is no session ID in the links or anything else...

Then, how can the router know that it is still me even if I close the browser and go to the same page again? (I don't have to log in again...)

So... If someone can help me ;)

Thanks

Alex

Additional info would be required:

-- Operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac etc...)
-- Browser and version
-- wired or wireless

Some browser have been known to "cache" login credentials.  However, these browsers tend / may have a security patch the "removes" this "flaw."

I tried other routers... My linksys uses simple http authentification... So it dosen't use cookies but If I close firefox, it will close the "connection"...

But I tried on a belkin and same thing... Close the browser, close everything, clear all connections, cache, cookies.... It still remembers me... HOW!....

I had an issue with Windows XP Internet Explorer 6 where it also "cached" my username / password for the router.  This disappeared after a Windows XP Windows Update security update.  Not sure if it is the same as the DIR-615c1 as I have a DIR-615b2
