I got a 2132l as a open box from best buy .  however it is already registered . how do reset the registration

What region are you located?

So it says that it's already registered to your account or registered to a different one?
You may want to phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask them if the camera can be removed from there end. Not sure if it can. It maybe something that the prior owner for got to deactivate and left it associated with there email account on MyDlink.

There is no need to contact support...unless of course you think you need their help with the installation.
All you have to do is reset the camera to factory settings. Use a paperclip or something else that fits on the reset hole located at the back of the camera next to the WPS button, press and hold for 7-10 seconds ( you should see the power light turn red) and release.

Your camera would be sent to factory settings and you can start setup from the beginning at this point.. Let us know if this works for you...

no response, the camera is not picked up be the computer at all

i stuck a pen ink the little hole, it turned red.  I then tap start on the d-link program and it couldn't find the camera

Check the User Manual for set up process. You should be able to set up the camera now. Download the latest SW program from mydlink.com
