Hi guys,
Not sure if this is the right place for this as I know that fun_plug is not officially supported!
Anyhow, I'm having issues at the first hurdle with fun_plug. I've copied the batch file and the .tgz file onto Volume_1 (I tried Volume_2 as well as I read that for someone it had worked on this Volume) and rebooted many times and it hasn't done anything. I've got a feeling it may be that the batch file is not executable but I've tried changing the permissions with Windows and Ubuntu and both say that access is denied.
I'm not sure that there's not a setting somewhere that I'm missing because I've tried using the web interface ssh login too and that says that access is denied too.
I'm trying to get a Twonky server installed ultimately because I've just bought a Cambridge Audio streamer and while the UPnP server on the NAS lets me stream music, it doesn't server the tags at all, so all my music comes up in an Album called 'Other'
Cheers for any help,
Toaster
Although I only own a 320L I'm assuming it's just the same as a 345 (so just remember my assumptions)
You don't need fun_plug to add Twonky as it can be installed anyway see link
http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/#id_8Now you seem to have problems with getting albums listed correctly and each media application treats tag information differently (or depending on the content). I've found that tagging files correctly is the best process and having a good working file system is helpful
All my albums are in seperate folders Artist Name - Album Title
Tracks are (number) - Track Title
If the album is compilation is VA - Album Title
Tracks are filed in CD 01 / CD02 etc etc
and in each CD the tracks are (number) - Artist (see note 1 below) - Track Title BUT with the correct Tag Editor (like Tag&Rename) you need to mark all tracks as "compilation" and also on the "Additional" tab the Album Artist is listed as Various Artists (otherwise some media applications will import the tracks as separate because the Album Artists will be the actual Artist
Note 1
If you only enter Various Artists as the Artist the only way to find out the original artist would be to look at the covers or search by other means
Some might have different methods or an easier way and it takes time and patience to get things right and working how you want but the end result is much more pleasing.
