Whatever happened to the replacement units from Lycan?
« on: July 06, 2009, 05:43:23 PM »

I haven't heard anything more about this since he asked us for our email addresses.  Does anybody know anything more about this?

That's the point. We saw that also, but still no other word on the matter.

Well I was one of those people who was contacted by Lycan telling me that I was receiving a new unit.  I've not heard anything else since providing all of the requested information.

I was contacted by D-LINK yesterday regarding the replacement unit and I received the tracking number today. It was shipped from CA via UPS ground so I should receive it next week. D-Link tech support really came through. Hopefully the replacement unit works with no problems.

I was called by D-Link yesterday too, but I didn't hear the phone ring and no call back message was left.  I hope I haven't been skipped because of it.

I guess I was called on the 7th, too. I saw it in my "Missed Calls" list, but didn't know who it was.

Edit: I just called the number back, and was given a tracking number - should be here Monday! Cool. Let's see how we do with this one. :)

Those of you that are getting contacted will be getting A2's. They've been tested so don't ask why it looks like the package was opened. We decided to leave it with the shipping firmware which is 1.12. It is up to you if you want to upgrade and test around.

For those that were not on the list will have to wait for the next firmware, which btw is in the works with no ETA but should be soon, hopefully by the time some of you receive your A2's

Puff you're on the list  ;) noticed though you were at the bottom. You should be getting a call unless you missed it?

how does one get on the list? I had to go back to an old router becasue this one won't stay connected. I also don't have a ton of time to watch the messageboard for the details.

If you replied in a certain time frame with you personal info, you got on the list. Now that list is closed, you will have to wait for firmware.

Hey Lycan,

Is it OK for those who are getting replacement units to flash their existing units with the new firmware while we wait, or will that be a problem for your testing?

Thanks!

No, please leave all in bound units as they are.
