well technically, i tried running the install off the disc first, but windows user account control kept blocking the install for some weird reason. I couldn't even get past the install screen where it says agree/disagree. i would hit agree and i would get a pop up box stating it was blocked because setup.exe was from an unknown source or something like that. i forget now. i could even open the disc and see the files and setup, but the same thing doing it that way also.
i went to the D-Link site and downloaded the "
DWA-192_REVA_DRIVERS_1.03.B04_WIN" zip file to my pc from the link in posted in my previous post. then i plugged the ac adapter into an open usb port on my pc. i went back to the zip file and opened it up and went into "
DWA-192_V1.03b04" folder and clicked on the setup file. after it installed, the adapter began flashing the blue ring on and off. the i just went down to the internet access icon by the clock and picked what wifi connection i wanted to use. it works with my asus router, and the access points i have. no issues with it other than the install problem with the disc.
you can see here in the picture it is working just fine.
