Its SharePort USB port can work with only one computer at a time. With the latest firmware update, the D-Link DIR-655 is arguably one of the best among single-band Wireless-N routers on the market.

On my network, I just run shareport, then it detects the usb harddrive and I hit connect. When I'm done I sever the connection in case my wife needs access to the drive from her laptop. We use this as a way to store docs and photos.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

What version of SP are you using?
What format is the USB drive in? NTFS is recommended.

I live in central U.S.

I downloaded the newest one on the forum page
I just changed the format of the USB to NTFS but it still says "No devices were found on the network"

Did you turn on the usb setting? On my B model, under Setup is USB Settings. Pulldown menu has "shareport" as one option.

See if Fzappas solution works for you.

Might try the next version up from what you have loaded now instead of going directly to v1.37.

Be sure to use IE or FF when updating FW.

You might try using a Network Print server device if you can't get shareport to work.

Does the pulldown menu have another option? Network USB may mean using usb connection instead of ethernet to your PC.

Try updating to v1.31 using FF and see if it will update.
