dcs 2630l ugh , come in dlink
« on: December 07, 2015, 08:51:42 PM »

Why can't dlink come to grips in firmware?

I get different hardware and stuff, but the network connection should be at least standard in user interface by now across platforms.

The 2630l diverges yet again, developed by some other group in the company perhaps?

Another 3 hours wasted tonight.

This cam won't hand off and connect to hidden wireless id, unlike the new 960l.
Had to unhide it to connect then rehide it.

This cameras f/w is super slow. Wtf is it doing? Pages take forever to load in.

Still haven't registered to mydlink as that timed out.

So why is the network interface different?

Don't get me started about the 960l differences, it couldn't Scan available list in IE on win 7.

Still no luck on windows 10 with both. Although 2630l at least tried to install the cam control.

Still can't connect.
Upgraded to 4.0 mydlink app on 2 devices i don't care about (moto g and Samsung note 2014**).
App sees camera but can't connect.
Times out because f/w/camera is very slow to respond.

**am surprised to see my cams running in hd h264 at near 30fps. ..(2330l, 522lb,5222l)

5 hours wasted.

Time to unplug camera and hit reset button tomorrow.(2nd time).

I rebooted 1 last time and mydlink app 4.0 no longer sees the camera connected to the same router.

Whoops there it is. . Reconnected wifi on note 2014 and it showed up but still doesn't connect.  As expected.  #pathetic

  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?

Is uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding enabled on both cameras?
Have you set up a static IP address ON the cameras that's outside of the main host routers DHCP IP address pool?

Any status on this?  ???

Yes, been at this since 6:30 pm tonight.. Finally got it working 10:30pm.

To summarize quickly -

Kept trying to connect to my Asus RT-AC3200 5GHZ-1. (192.168.2.1).  Removed 128Gb card I had inserted last night (but couldn't setup).
Would get a connection - but all webpages in IE11 and Chrome on Win7 64 bit would barely load in, and in fact timed out a million times.  Moved camera in front of router. Still same stuff.
(I also disabled my PCs 2nd internet connection and the wireless, and only used the wireless to connect to the camera to get in there and set it to the router, those pages loaded fine when connected directly to the camera via WiFi).  Also unplugged 960L which is wireless to this router.

At some point when I connected via WiFi directly - I figured I had nothing to lose at this point by updating the F/W.

Well - still the same issues.   Started trying to connect with my laptop and Win10 - same performance issues loading webpages.

Took a break.   Came back.

Connected to my main router, Asus RT-N65R - 2.4Ghz.  Hey - it works great. Camera's F/W working as expected, no timeouts.
Connected to my main router, 5Ghz.  Hey - it works great still.

Connected back to my 2nd router (as above) - 2.4Ghz - Hey - it works great!
Connected back to my 2nd router 5 Ghz - Hey it works great!!

Something happened in the camera or something - it's no longer timing out.

And I was successful in registering to my dlink account.

Camera has 110F hot spot on back.

I haven't tried the speaker, would get massive feedback in the same room for sure...but it looks like it takes up about 1/2 the size of the camera.

Definitely a lot bigger than the product pictures...

So after leaving it alone for a while it seems to be working now?

No it appears that it needs to be on unhidden ssid.

I can try to hide my main router ssid in Sunday and try with that, but I expect same difficulties as mentioned in the other thread.

Ok, I'll have D-Link review this. Probably wont see any results till next FW update. Please be patient.

I'm Still playing around with it. It hasn't come back from its senses of being slow when connected to that hidden ssid.
I've unhid the 5ghz and 2.4ghz on router #2. No luck when connecting.

Next step is to connect to main router again and see if it speeds back up again like last time.
(Probably Sunday)

Sounds good. Please give all the details so that D-Link will have what they need to review this and make corrections where needed.

Thanks for all your time and input.  ;)
