CONCLUSION...

I purchased a TrendNet TEW-633GR to replace the DIR-655.......

drum rolls please.......

Absolutely NO disconnection what so ever.

There is something seriously wrong with the DIR-655 on TWC.  Especially since I have a new wireless router from TrendNet, it works like a charm...

ps, anyone want to buy a slightly used DIR-655 with the newest firmware?

I notice that locking down the port speed was mentioned, did you try this? What could be happening is the DIR could be having a problem with auto negotiation and rebooting to try and detect a link between the modem and router.

just speculation.

I work for twc in a different market.

Is your modem set for bridge mode - or are you running mat on the modem

give me the model # of the modem - however - you should have no issues with a swap.

Just take it down to a TWC service center and they will swap it out . . . .

Turning wirless off solved the reboot issue for me,    D-LInk RMAd my router, and the new one they sent did the exact same thing,   but with wireless off,   it works fine.

i'm hoping they fix this in 1.11  (my router was workign fine with wirless for months until 1.10)

Just out of curiosity, did you reset the configuration to default after flashing the firmware?

I usually make it a habit to flash, reset to default, reboot and then manually reconfigure.  It's a pain if you have a lot of rules set, but I have had no problems with my HW: A2, FW: 1.10 router.

Intel Wireless-N client
Broadcom Wireless-G client
D-Link Wireless-N client (now working)
Vonage phone adapter, wired

Well it could be the router, they do go south. Contact technical support. Run the gambit of troubleshooting, if it fails on the phone, then you should be able to get a replacement.
Make sure you request to have the outgoing replacement tested before it goes out.
