320 REV b f/W 1.0 keeps shutting down, no awake.
« on: February 07, 2016, 07:46:31 AM »

Since I purchased this device I have had issues with it starting up.
I managed to finally have it working the way it should.

If left idle for 5 minutes, it goes to HDD Hibernation
Power Recovery Enabled - for power cuts etc.

In hibernation mode, the HDD light remains ON, while the power light goes OFF.
It is connected by RJ45 Cat6 cable direct to a gigabit switch.
It has a fixed IP address.
Wont power up from hibernation, this used to work before.
Manually have to power off then back on again to regain access.

Is it just the disks that will not power up or the whole unit?  If it is the whole unit (you can't even access web web UI interface) then check the power supply is giving 12v @ 4A UNDER LOAD.

If it is just the disks then check the settings in the web UI for wakeup times and also run the smart tests in case there is a problem with the drives. We use a large number of DNS-320 boxes, many for several years, and not one has exhibited the symptoms you describe..
