I'm surprised this topic not having already surfaced here... I think that providing SharePort (http://www.dlink.com/shareport/) support also for D-Link NAS would be the best way to make the USB port useful for most people.
Being the multifunction printers so common, SharePort would automatically make them connectable also to the USB equipped DNS boxes, making lots of users happy, and the whole box more attractive (a unique selling point against all competition, I think).
Even if only implemented in the way it is on the D-Link routers, it would go a great way to fill also another often requested feature, USB storage support on the DNS (another big selling bonus if implemented officially).
The current basic lp spooler feature is inherently limited, but could be kept as option for those preferring a simpler solution that does not depend on a client side software.
Now that this feature seems to be well tested and standard for D-Link USB equipped routers, it should not be so difficult to leverage the code to the DNS NAS boxes, perhaps on the form of an optional package (like BT and NFS in the upcoming 1.08 FW and beyond...)
Other opinions will be welcome (and will help convince D-Link to consider it).
