So the swapped camera that was working in it's old location that you swapped with the one that seems to fail is still working ok?
Seems like the problem camera is tracking to it's swapped location and probably needs to be RMAd. I would phone contact D-Link support and ask about this. Let them know what you did and you seem to have narrowed it down to this one camera.
Well, it gets better.
I checked on the cameras all day off and on, via my android app. One of the 933L cams did "disconnect" briefly but came back......the one that had acted up in the livingroom location and was moved to the basement location had disconnected as already mentioned...but the others stayed connected all day.....
Until I got home and checked again.
The 522L that was working fine all day ALSO went out sometime this afternoon. So now BOTH 5222L cams are disconnected on MDL, on DVIEW, neother are reachable by ping......the one that had failed earlier has a solid red light now.....the second one still has a solid green light.
Luckily I also talked to the store where I bought the first 5222L.....the store will extend me store credit for it, even though its out of the return period, given the steady stream (no pub intended) of problems. I hadnt been sure whether to take advantage of that or not at first....but getting home and finding the second 5222L ALSO dead?
I think its time to return everything and cut bait. I had to be "beaten", and I know some folks here claim their cameras work great.....but I have been messing with this for almost 3 months.........it should not be this crazy unreliable.
Thanks, Furry Nutz for all your help (it hasnt been clear if you are DLINK or just a normal user).....The package of what these cameras are advertised to offer is VERY nice and attractive......but there are so many flaws with the advertised features it really is very frustrating.....
I could have lived with the two way audio basically being useless.
I could have lived with the SUPER SLOW meovement of the camera relative to control input.....
I could even deal with the dead-out-of-the-box ones......
And I realize that some of the issues could be "user error" or "environmental issues".
But the least these things should do is stay online for more than a few hours or days at a time before needing major attention.
I aimed for WIFI cams because it promised to not be time consuming and difficult what with wiring etc a hard wired camera.....
But in that effort, I have instead had to spend HOURS AND HOURS playing with resetting, reinstalling etc EVERYTHING, on the phone with DLINK (who do not seem to know how to do anything but wlak me through a script and then at the end say its a defective unit) and my cable company trying to chase problems in the rest of my LAN that dont seem to exist, or at least are not a problem for every other wireless device I have.
I dunno.
Like I said, I feel defeated.....I REALLY wanted these to work.
But sometimes you have to cut bait and row the boat to shore and start over on another day.
