Hello.
On Nov 12/07 I asked my cable company to upgrade the speed on my modem. Prior to asking Shaw (my cable company) my DIR-655 worked without problem (Firmware: 1.10)
Shaw had to reboot the cable modem to upgrade a file in it to enable the faster speeds. Since doing that I can't get the DIR-655 back onto the internet!
Looking on the Status page in the router it says, under DHCP settings, "Enabling" but it hasn't been able to pull down an IP from the modem.
I have confirmed with Shaw that the modem has access to the internet as I've plugged the ethernet cable from the modem directly into a laptop and I had access to the net.
Here is what I've done so far (note that nothing has worked):
Turned off the power for both the modem and router for 1 minute, then plugged the modem back until it sync'd, then turned back on the router.
Turned off the power for both the modem and the router for 1 minute, then plugged the router back in, then turned back on the modem.
Turned off the power for both the modem and the router for 1 minute, then plugged the modem back in for 24 hours, then turned back on the router.

Downloaded the 1.10 Firmware from dlink.com and re-installed the firmware on the router.
Held the reset button down on the router until the lights flashed (about 3 seconds).
Held the reset button down on the router until the lights flashed and the router reset back to factory defaults (about 10 seconds).
Logged into the router to reset the router back to Factory defaults.
As you can see I've done quite a bit of troubleshooting here but it's getting frustrating now.
Thank you
