Port Forwarding
« on: July 16, 2009, 09:36:18 AM »

Hi

I have a D Link 625 and I have port forward a few ports like 8080 and 23 and it doesn't seem to work when I do some tests. I have used www.canuseeme.org

I don't have a firewall installed on my PC at the moment and I use a static IP.

with my old router these ports worked fine - so it's not my ISP who is blocking them.

I have tried many different combinations on the Router's firewall settings but none of them have worked.

Can someone help me please?

Thanks

Looking around the board at different devices... looks like D-Link no longer supports Port Forwarding or DMZ.  Seen it on the 825 board, the 855 board, and now this board.  Some people claim to have port forwarding with their VPN and their XBox... but VPN isnt really port forwarding and XBOX doesnt really need port forwarding so... iono.

That is not true.  My router (DIR-628) is successfully Port Forwarding VNC ports.

Hi

I am confused now. How would you open doors at the router? For instance I need to open door 80, 8080 and 16001 for one PC, door 3333 for another PC and door 1234 and 5678 for a 3rd PC.

I have tried it with port forwarding and then when I go to the website http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to check if the ports are open I get the result saying they are not.

I have tried many firewall settings combinations on the Router and I have tried shutting down the Win XP internal Firewall. There's no other firewall installed on my PCs.

I suppose I must be doing something wrong but so far I am not able to see what.

Thanks
