Selecting another folder other than the default does not save the file in it.




Selecting the default folder, defaults you to your c:\users\username\Documents\.. but when you go there, there is no file.

You have to search for the file name, and then you find it in this temp internet files\virtualized folder...  this is beyond consumer friendly.  Windows 7 in this case.

DLINK should give me a free camera for my contribution.

If one has a dual band router, in the setup GUI one has to guess which band to set the DNR 202L up on. They should be on the same band as the cams. But DLINK's GUI shows router 1 and 2 with both having same IP and MAC addressed. It should at least show them by SSID. Otherwise the setup will work but you get a lot of disconnects. It just seems very Mickey Mouse the setup GUI is written.

In the setup process 2 networks are presented. If you go into your router and shut off one of the bands then go back into the setup process from square 1 you will see that there is only 1 network. Yes I am aware the DNR is connected to the router by LAN cable.

Which setup wizard are you using? The one from the mydlink.com support site for the 202L?

The DNR is only LAN connection supporting. NO WIRELESS.

Its OK. I already explained it sufficiently for people to work around it. YOU as a proxy for DLINK should test the setup wizard.  Not gonna spend any more time testing DLINK's software and spoon feeding it to them nor do I feel I need to prove what I experienced to anyone -- including you. This is DLINK's job not mine.

This is the same thing which happened with the whole >1TB external AC power question. Round and round and round we went with another customer already proving that it should work. Round and round and round.

Then we will conclude that what your posting about is a mis-configuration or understanding then on your part. If you don't back up your claims with details then we don't have any confidence in what you post about. We don't see any issues with default setup and configuration of the DNR with dual band routers as the documentation is correct and seems to work well for everyone else, Including me. I set my LAN wired DNR up on my "dual band router" and connected it to my DCS camera just fine using it's setup wizard. Others have installed there DNRs and cameras just fine. You seem to be the only one having issue. As long as you got it working.

Yes and information was given about DNR USB power supply support and limits. Those are guidelines for this model DNR. If the USB drives don't have external power adapters, then the drives needs to fall under these guidelines to work, if not, external power adapters will be required for the USB drive sized 1Tb and above. Understand the USB power spec.
