I bought yesterday a Wireless N600 VPN ROUTER DIR-840.

My Problem is when i make the setup wizard, then all my tablets phones are working with both 2.4 and 5 ghz wlan. But then it dont allows my 2PC-s to connect.
When i reset the router and skip the setup wizard then i can use it with my PC-s but then my phones and tablets connects but dont have internet connection!
I wanted a firmware upgrade but i could not find the specified modell on th D-Link webpage!
I was scammed and had buyed a fake router?

PLS help!

• What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
• Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
• What region are you located?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

• What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
• What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

The DIR-840 is not marketed here in the NA region.
Where did you get this DIR-840 model router from? Retail store or ISP service?

Sorry for hijacking this post, but I  have a similar problem and no solution was registered.

I also bought a Wireless N600 VPN ROUTER DIR-840.

My router is unstable and has some strange behavior: when I press the "check" for firmware upgrades it changes the local ip to 1.0.0.0 and I can not change it back until hw reset.

I also wanted a firmware upgrade but i could not find the specified model on th D-Link webpage!

Hardware Version: C1   Firmware Version : 1.01ON  Country: Portugal ISP: ZON

I bought it in a local retail store:

You might contact your ISP service there. This model maybe a specific model only used on your ISP service. Some ISPs use D-Link routers and they maintain the FW updates and support for these routers. There isn't any D-Link support for this model listed on there web site.
