DWR-921 default password not working

Hi,

Today i updated to latest firmware DWR-921_C1_V3.01b06_20160715.  After update I am not able to log in to the router. Even after resetting it using the reset button, default login "admin"  does not work.  Keep getting invalid user/pass error.

Any idea what could be wrong.

  • What region are you located?

Default log in for most D-Link products is admin and the password is blank. Be sure to clear any browser caches before and after loading FW or upgrading FW. ink> >FW Update Process

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again. (For older generation routers.)

I'm in EU region.
I did follow the instructions on that page but no luck.

Strange thing is that when i type in router IP the login page already has user field set to "admin" .  Not sure if that is normal.

Router works fine but I'm unable to log in to it.

Admin is usually default. Just don't enter a password.

Might check the user manual to see if the default log in maybe different...

No go.

Should be admin

Will have to call support tomorrow to figure out what is the issue or find a way to change firmware.

I had the same problem you had a few years ago, i updated my DWR-921 to D-link_DWR-921C1_V3.01(WW)b01.bin and admin not working with blank password...

Tried Admi, admi, password, every combinaison but nothing work...

Did you found a solution since this time ?

If not, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
