
The problem is solved, the root to the problem was of course my self.
I had, a long time ago, set the NAS to IP 192.168.
1.x - the D-link DIR-842 DHCP is default set to 192.168.
0.x
setting the D-link DHCP to 192.168.1.x allowed me to access the NAS and again was able to change the NAS settings.
The D-link DIR-842 is doing a great job.
