Hi all, picked up this adapter a few weeks ago and have had very regular drop outs, almost hourly, sometimes more.  It doesnt seem to matter if its under load or not, i can be gaming and suddenly it will start flashing blue, sometimes it will reconnect itself, sometimes it will connect to the wifi but has no internet and i have to disconnect/reconnect manually.  None of the other devices in my house have this issue. $5 dlink pci wifi card works on this machine with no issues.  I have removed all previous network drivers and reinstalled.

Windows 10 x64
latest dlink device drivers
no overlapping devices or interference.
802.11n with WPA2 2.4Ghz

Any ideas?

• What region are you located?

Using latest drivers from the web site?
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What security modes are you using on the main host router?

Is the USB connection on the PC 2.0 or 3.0? I've noticed that this adapter doesn't work well on USB 2.0 connections or cables.
Be sure any USB extension cables are also USB 3.0 compliant.

I'm in Australia, I have tried the latest drivers from the website, and also the initial "1.0" drivers. Same issue.  Security is just WPA2.  The router is just an isp supplied TG-1 (http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/bc/hardware/?action=h_view&model_id=1662) I know its a bit ****, but it seems to work fine with all of my other devices (laptop/ipad/phones/consoles etc)

Usb is 3.0, no extension cable, just the cable that was in the box.

Not sure if it's relevant, but heres my hardware.

CPU: i7 4790k@4.5Ghz
Ram: 16GB Hyper X 2133
Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
GPU: GTX 1080ti founders

Can try drivers from the USA site and see.

I also notice that my 192 starts blinking here and there when connected to my DIR-890L in Windows 10x64. Like now. I need to load up Windows 7 and test.

Also check channels that your main host router is using, try manual channel 1, 6 or 11 or 13 on 2.4Ghz or manual any channel on 5Ghz.
Might test with wifi security set to open as a quick test to see if same thing still happens. Re-enable WPA2 after testing.

I'm on Windows 7x64 now and will see if the adapter starts blinking. I believe this was a Windows 10 thing.

Switched to my Windows 7x64 partition and installed the 192 drivers here. So far no drop outs with it.

yeah unfortunately the drop outs don't happen consistently,  Earlier today i had multiple in 30 minutes, so far i've been connected for 2 hours without one.  Going back to Win 7 isn't an option just to get this thing to work unfortunately (DX12)

installing those intel drivers does seem to work, 6 hours with no drop out now, it's a little irritating having to reinstall them every boot though.  It's not the first time its lasted this long without a dropout though so i'll report back tomorrow

nvm dropped out again, i've tried multiple drivers, currently im using v1.05B03.

What wireless modes, channels are you using?
Can you set single mode G, WPA and TPIK only on manual channel 11?
I'd like to see if this thing looses connection on legacy modes...
Does your router have 5ghz radio by chance?


I do notice that in Windows 7, the connection is lost in networking and the adapter disappears however the blue LED on the adapter is solid.

Another question, does your PC sleep or go into Hibernation mode at all?

Channel 11, no interference. It does the same thing with no security on the wifi. No 5ghz. Seems to drop out regardless of wireless standard used.  802.11b/g/n is the wifi standard, dropping it down to just 802.11b/g had no effect besides completely crippling my connection, still dropped out.  The pc has sleep and hibernation disabled, no screensaver etc either

I'll try and get a hold of another router tomorrow and see how that goes, not sure thats the issue though, nothing else is having issues with the wifi.
