655 not working after upgrade to 1.32NA - help
« on: July 22, 2009, 02:56:54 PM »

Yesterday, I noticed that the 655 had an updated firmware 1.32NA - I was previously on 1.21 so I figured I might upgrade.  I downloaded the bin file, and used the interface to upload it to the router (hardwire link) like I have done so many times.  It took a long time, then came back with a page not found.  I have tried 192.168.1.1. 1.0, 0.1, none of them seem to connect to the router.  None of the other devices on the network, wired and wireless, are connecting to the net or the internet.

I have re-booted all the network devices (cable modem, router, etc.) and still nothing.

I am LOST and cut off from the world at home - my phone, netflix, BT, web, etc. all have come to a grinding halt.

How can I recover and/or re-install the firmware?  I will be taking my laptop home today with a copy of the bin file and am hoping this forum will email me the replies since I will have no way to access replies otherwise.

Thanks in advance!!

Have you tried to use the hardware reset button on the rear?  While powered on, insert something in the reset hole and hold for 10 seconds (the edge of a paperclip works well).  Release the button and the router will reset with factory defaults (hopefully).
