I have noticed 3 significant problems with the website filtering on the DIR-655 using the firmware 1.32NA

These are my settings...
Website filtering: Allow computers access to Only these sites
Sites:                20 sites are listed in the format...      blahblah.com
Access Control:   Policy  is Block some Access using machine MAC address with Apply Web Filter checked
Securespot:        is not enabled

1. After you reboot the router, it allows access to every website. It only restricts access after you save settings on the website filter. If you have a power failure, you need to log back on the router and click on Save Settings under Website Filter.

2. Domain names over 39 characters are blocked, even if they are in your whitelist. Example: realpage.com is in the whitelist, www.realpage.com isn't blocked.... onesite.realpage.com isn't blocked... blahblahblahblahblah.onesite.realpage.com is  >:(

3. You can get around the filter by using https://. Example: wired.com ISN'T in your whitelist.... Open up your friendly browser and type in https://www.wired.com       router whitelist = null

I'm giving up... unless there is a fix

According to the post, SecureSpot is disabled.

This is not a permanent fix ....   but it might work for you. I had the same prob as you, with F/W 1.31
and this sequence worked for me.

1. disable securespot (enable, then disable again)
2. "save settings" in Access Controls again( click YES, even if nothing changed)
3. "save settings" in Website filters again (YES even if nothing changed.)

good luck,

I have a very similar issue with the 1.22. secure spot disabled.  I have it set to allow certain domains. However, while the router will stop almost all traffic to the net that is not in the whitelist, some things still get around it.  (Using it to restrict access to everything except google mail, yahoo mail, and an education website.  Doing this so a certain young person is doing homework rather than playing games.)

Anyhow. The router still allows access to games like atlantica online, and warcraft 3.  It will even allow you tohost a game... So it has me at a loss why it is allowing all of these connections, yet it is clearly not supposed to.  Heck, it can block everything just like it should (in appearance in a web browser) yet it will allow such connections.

So there must be something wrong with the access control / web filter.  The thing is set to use the MAC address attached to the schedule which the Access control and Web Filter use.
