Network to Network VPN - NAT
« on: August 04, 2009, 01:10:20 PM »

HI,
I need to connect two networks, one with a public WAN address and one that is behind a NAT"d router. The remote site is on a Motorala Canopy network and my current WAN port on the local router has a 10.1.*.* address. Before a purchase A DIR-330 will it handle this situation. If not any advice on a "cheap" solution?

Thanks,

It might work but it is never suggested to set up a double NAT'ed environment.

For Sales call 1 800 326 1688 ext. 5434.

i don't have a choice as the only internet service I can get is behind a router. So "it might work" doesn't work for me. I don't want to buy a couple of routers and have it fail.

Unless you can guarantee all relevant ports and more importantly protocols are being passed to this device correctly and that a non conflicting network design is being used then NO ONE can honestly promise any particular IP technology will work in your environment.
