Perhaps I did not correctly state what I wrote.  I meant to say the version 7.x that I have is only the driver.  During the install I thought it was going to install the client as well but it did not.

Also, the link you provided.  Do you happen to know if this is the latest version that includes the client? Perhaps, at some point, they stopped including the client and only provide the driver (which is what I seem to have in v 7.x)?

I tried a V7.x driver some months ago which had a huge 12MB download.  I also thought it would include the Atheros Client for XP but it only installed a driver (and probably some other useless junk that I didn't bother to look into).  It didn't even work so I uninstalled it and reverted it back to V5.3.0.67 with the 5.3.0.85 driver.

Let me know if you find a decent V7.x driver.

I'm currently using v7.7.0.329 which seems two work fine.  How did you test v 7.x that you had? Then I can check it out and tell you.  I assume by you message the fastest you could download was 12Mb.

I had been using v 3.x.  I wonder if the client has changed.  Not even sure there is a reason to use the Atheros client anymore really.  Do you?
