Question and problems using Windows 7 RTM
« on: August 10, 2009, 09:12:59 PM »

Hi there,

I am using Windows 7 RTM and i have my NAS-323 with all my files and i can access them without any problem. However, i have been experiencing some kind of hangs or freezes when using Outlook, IE and Firefox. Each of those programs freeze for about 30 seconds and the NETWORK led on my NAS-323 starts blinking, and as soon as it finishes blinking i can use those applications again. I am pretty sure thats the problem, because it does not happen when i turn off the NAS.

My second concern is that i am tryin' to sync my files for offline use, and i am not being able to do it, i get all the time a permission problem, when y try to set permissions on the folders of the NAS i receive an error too. Any of you could please help me with this please?

Thanks in advance!
Alex

Is the unit in hibernation and is waking up when you access just your browser to browse the internet or are you accessing the DNS-323?

No matter if the unit is on Hibernation mode or not i have tested both scenarios.I just open any page in any browser and it hangs, and it happens in outlook as well.

Do you have another PC on the network that does this as well?

I have a laptop, and it does not happen there. The laptop is running XP.

In fact i used to have Vista on my Desktop PC and no problems at all.

On the Win7 machine are you storing any of your outlook data (*.ost & *.pst) on the DNS-323?

I loaded my backup from my DNS, but not quite sure if it is using it as store or i just loaded from there the pst.
