I am a casual user experiencing significant conflict between several DCS-5030Ls and a Ubiquity Unify Long Range Access Point.    Problem has stumped my local network support team.   Although hardware / set up recommended by local media team, they now are stumped and cannot support DCS-5030Ls connected to Ubiquity Unify Access Point.   Everything else can connect to AP, but replacement DCS-5030L cannot connect to WIFI (everything else connects easily) and after reset of Access Point, the older DCS-5030L that was working prior to reset can not longer access see the WIFI.   Network team is telling me to replace the cameras (one is a year old and the other is NEW) with cameras from another manufacturer :(

Toplogy was recommended / installed by local media firm in Jun.2016:
- 80 MB/sec Fiberoptic service from Utililty Compamny
- Asus RT-AC3200 Tri-band router (this router replaced lower end router in Mar.2017)
- Antenna hardwired to Router with direct line of site to Antenna on Horse Barn
- Antenna in Horse Barn has clear line of site
- Barn Antenna and is hardwired to a Ubiquity Power over Ethernet box
- PoE box is hardwired to a Ubiquity Unifi Long Range Access Point.
- Access Point is centally located in the loft of 72 foot long horse barn.   Signal strength is excellent.   Laptop, WIFI Radio, iPad and several smart phones connect easily to the AP.
- WIFI connection to two DCS-5030Ls which are 30 feet each from AP.

Background:
Configuration above was installed Jun.2016 and worked flawlessly for 11 months.  The installation was completed by a junior technician who had difficulty configuring the cameras in Jun.2016.   After a few hours, he went back to his shop, spoke with senior personnel there and finished installation easily the following day.

Problem Statement:
In May.2016 one of the DCS-5030Ls had a hardware defect and was returned for RMA replacement.  Since then NONE of three replacement DCS-5030Ls could be configured in this topology.   DLink technical support kept saying that the replacement cameras were all defective.  During the installation process of the 3rd replacement DCS-5030L, the senior DLink Technican suggested that the topology was 'too complicated' and the issue was likely a conflict with the AP.   I opted to hire the local media team to come onsite and also recommended that they troubleshoot in collaboration with DLink (they did not collaborate with DLink).   (Note:  Since the AP has only one inbound ethernet port and NO outbound ethernet ports, the technician connected to the Barn Network via a portable switch.)  After FOUR hours of troubleshooting, which included upgrade of firmware on THREE DCS-5030Ls and upgrade of firmware to the Access Point, the technician recommended replacing all of the DCS-5030L cameras since that would be cheaper in the long run that paying the local firm to continue to troubleshoot the conflict.    (Big Sigh).

Is there a known conflict / setup work around to get DCS-5030Ls working with Unify AP LR?     I would greatly appreciate your support.

How are you viewing the cameras? mydlink.com ?  directly through the camera F/W?

Have you tried connecting the camera to the RT-AC3200 to see if you can even get that to work?

How are you setting up the DCS-5030L?  Are you using the setup wizard?  Or manually configuring the camera through the F/W?

What wireless modes are you using on the AP?
What channels are being used on the AP?
What security modes are being used on the AP? Try OPEN security to see if any of the cameras connect.

How is the AP configured with the main host router? Using a static IP address out side of the main host routers default IP address pool is recommended.
I the AP connected via LAN to LAN with the main host router?

What is the model# of this AP?

I am a casual user and have worked with DLink to set up THREE DCS-5030Ls.   Unfortunately I have no information on how the AP is configured.   I am collecting information for the local network technician who says that I should simply replace the DLink Cameras with a different manufacturer.   (I am reluctant to let the network team out of the problem THEY created for me) and am seeking support from DLink (who has not provided much help to date).

The older camera was working yesterday until the local technician re-set the AP.   The new camera can only be seen when it is plugged via ethernet to laptop or switch.   There is no router in the barn.   The router is in my residence and the signal is broadcast to the barn via antennas to a Wireless Access Point.

My norm is to view the cameras (when they are working) via MyDLink.com or through iPad/iPhone app.

Two cameras ago, I did set up the camera directly to the Router (but that is NOT the installed topology).   The Router is in my residence which is 150 feet from the barn.   That is why there are antennas and a Wireless Access Point installed.   (Both cameras worked in this configuration very well for 11 months.  One f the cameras was defective and replacement RMA camera(s) cannot be configured.   After reset of the AP, the other camera no longer can access the Wifi.)

Please gather the information so we can get a better idea.

Please try connecting one or if not ALL cameras to the ASUS router to see if they connect to that instead of the AP.

IF the cameras had been working before this AP was installed and configured, I presume this AP maybe the problem and NOT the cameras. You might ask D-Link about using a different AP in it's place.

I would be happy to troubleshoot by connecting to the Router directly.     Can you please provide instructions to do so?   There was NO installation instructions in any of the RMA boxes.

I did setup one of the cameras previously via instructions from DLink technician.  He then said this was not fruitful (other than to upgrade firmware) since the camera will not be running from the WIFI network in my residence and will need to obtain his IP from the Access Point in the remote building (a horse barn).   Do you still feel this step has merit?

I would do at least one cameras with the ASUS router and see if it connects.

You can use the user manual or the quick install guide to set up the camera can be found here:

It is fruitful in that it would say to me that the camera is not DEFECTIVE.

I'm not saying your installed topology is defective either because it doesn't work in the barn(yet).  It would at least prove that there is some issue (configuration) talking between asus router and your AP.

Logging into the camera's F/W and accessing it there is also a good trouble shooting method.

I am convinced that the camera's are not defective.  Local technician is recommending replacement of these camera's because of the time spent trying to work through conflict they have with the AP.   (There is no guarantee that camera's from another manufacturer won't have the same problem.)
- One was working yesterday before the local technician re-set the AP.
- RMA camera #2 was connected to my router but once it was moved to barn setting it could not connect with the WIFI network at the barn.  (DLink said we neededed to get a switch so we could connect to the network at the barn.
- I have access firmware on RMA Cameras #1, #2 and #3 via ethernet connection through laptop.    Firmware was updated on all three.   All three could see the network when connected via ethernet and then would immediately stop seeing the network as soon as the ethernet was disconnected.

Agree that the problem 'could' be associated to the Access Point.     I have not personally be trained on accessing the AP, but will delve into it.   Local technician re=set the AP as his last troubleshooting step yesterday.   The result did NOT resolve setting up the new camera, but did result in the one working camera no longer working.   (sigh)

Appreciate your guidance thus far, I will perform those additional steps and respond further.    Anything else I should try?

You did setup the wireless in the camera F/W properly?    Setup->Wireless Settings.

I did a quick google and found someone with possibly similar problems?  Pretty long read - I skimmed most of it.

One other test would be to set the AP for OPEN security, NO WPA and manual channel 1, 6 or 11 that does not interfere with your main host routers channels. Your main host router should be on 11 and I would set the AP for 1. Auto 20/40Mhz.

Configure one of the cameras to connect to the AP with out any security and see if the camera will connect. If any of the cameras do not then we can presume maybe the AP is at fault. Since the cameras do connect to the ASUS router. I'm leaning towards the AP.

With out more details on how the AP is configured, its hard to tell.

Thanks for the Unifi Forum site.    A bit above my head, but will try my best to translate to my situation.    I am not at the Barn this evening (tropical storm going through here), but will test the AP setups tomorrow.

More soon.   THANKS SO MUCH for your help thus far.
