Camera rendered useless after firmware update
« on: January 22, 2018, 12:56:20 AM »

I have been using the OMNA 180 since August with no issues. In December I did the firmware 1.3 update via my iPhone omna app and it has not worked since. Solid red lights are showing on the device. I have tried using the reset button and unplugging the device for extended periods of time. I have also deleted the app and device from my HomeKit and tried starting over with it. This is an expensive product to not be able to use after only 6months time. Looking for alternative solutions. I called the 24/7 service number that was included in the box and was on hold forever with no one picking up.

What region are you located?
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email. If in the USA, there is 24/7 online chat support.
Let us know how it goes please.

If you did a hard reset (paperclip in the reset hole - hold for 10 seconds and release). If it is still solid red and not responding, you will need an RMA. You must call (877) 453-5465 for a replacement.

I bought my camera october last year, via apple store, it worked perfectly until today, that it requested me a firware upgrade.
Light is still red, no hard rest works. The thing is that I am in Argentina, and the Dlink support page, would not give me a support since i bought it a the US..... :-\
Should I send it back to the US in order te get my warranty ???

Double-check power and connections: Ensure that the camera is properly connected to power and that all cables are securely plugged in. Verify that the power source is functioning correctly.

Reset the camera: While you mentioned trying the reset button, it's worth attempting a more thorough reset. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for performing a factory reset on the camera and
how to turn off comments on instagram. This will usually involve holding down the reset button for a specific duration or using a pin or paperclip to press the reset button.

Reinstall the firmware: If the firmware update caused the issue, you may want to consider reinstalling the previous version of the firmware. Check the manufacturer's website or support documentation for instructions on how to do this. Make sure to follow the steps carefully and use the correct firmware file for your specific model.

Contact technical support: Since you mentioned having difficulty reaching technical support, try looking for alternative contact methods. Visit the manufacturer's website and look for support options such as email, live chat, or community forums where you can seek assistance. Sometimes, reaching out to them through social media channels can also be helpful.

Warranty and return options: If all else fails and you're still unable to resolve the issue, check the warranty information provided with your product. If the camera is still within the warranty period, you may be eligible for a repair, replacement, or refund. Review the terms and conditions of the warranty and contact the manufacturer or retailer accordingly.

Remember to have your purchase details and any relevant documentation ready when contacting support or initiating a warranty claim.

I understand the frustration caused by technical issues, especially with an expensive product. I hope these steps help you resolve the problem or guide you toward a solution.
