If you have firmware 1.xx, you can go to mydlink.com and set up email notifications with sound and/or motion detection. Click HERE for FAQ.

If you have updated the firmware to 2.xx using the new mydlink app, unfortunately this kills this feature since you can no longer see the camera on mydlink.com or use mydlink Lite app.
