Hard Drive Formatting Failure - Error Code 106

Hi all,
New around here and hope to find some help. Searched any related error message or problem and could not yet find the solution.

Hardware Version: DNS-323 Hardware Revision B1
Firmware Version: 1.08
Single disks configuration

Harddrive 1: Western Digital WD10EACS 1000 G
Harddrive 2: Western Digital WD20EADS 2000 G

Problem Type: Hard Drive(s) Formatting Failure. (Error Code:106).

Problem Description:
Had 1 drive (WD 1Tb) installed and running for 6 months.
Inserted second drive (WD 2Tb), got prompted for formating after login.
The formating reached 1% after few seconds than gave me the above error.

Tried 3 times, same issue.

What would be the best actions:
1. Upgrade to 1.08 build 5
2. Downgrade to 1.07
3. Other?

1. Upgrade to 1.08 b5 gives me:

Hard Drive(s) Formatting Failure. (Error Code:112)
After about 4% it jumped to 100% and the above error.

Well at least the error code has changed  :-\

Anybody some ideas on the meaning of these error codes?

Latest update...

Downgrade to Firmware 1.07 saves the day; the format is running.
Next check see if I can upgrade again after formating the drive.

When you received those error codes can you tell me, were you running 1.08 and were you running any AddOns?

So as it stands right now from your post you had one 1Tb HD already running in Standard mode and a second drive, 2tb, was inserted and when prompted for format you were presented these error codes.

Was this second drive already formatted in another system?

First error occurred (error code 106) with 1.08 b4, installed applications: BT.
Second error occurred (error code 112) with 1.08 b5; did not check changes in applications.

Made no difference, first it was not formated, second it was NTFS (win XP; quick format).

Alas the problem is not yet solved either; Firmware 107. Format is stuck at 94%.

I'll give it full format and try again this evening :-(

Last update: Got the drive to work in Firmware 1.07; than upgraded back to 1.08 b5.
The drive is working fine now.

Now to solve the BT application problem as I think others have reported here.
