My opinion (not speaking for D-Link) Remember the USB function on most routers on the market is secondary. If you need to stream high-quality movies or a lot of data, it is much better to get a NAS or connect a USB drive to a PC and run software. Expecting a router to function and perform the same as a NAS is unrealistic, especially if you have more than 10 wireless devices connected. Having a ton of rules, port forwarding, QoS enabled, etc eats up the memory and CPU.
