DAP-1860's Priority on the main router

Should I give the DAP the Highest priority in the "QoS by devices" page of the DIR router or would that be inconsequential and a wasted priority?

No, leave it out of the QoS section. Just put in devices that you want QoS to manage. The DAP is just a pass thru for data between the router and connected devices. It doesn't need to be managed.
