I just installed my new DIR-882 router today, assigned static IPs and forwarded ports 80 and 443 to use with my reverse proxy nginx.  That is all I had to do on my old Asus RT-AC66U B1 router.  I can not understand why this isn't working.  I even installed the DD-WRT firmware and I got the same results but switched back to 1.11 D-Link firmware after it didn't work.  If I plug in my old router again it works right away.  Also, on a side note, is there a way to make it so I can filter more than 24 URLs?  I'm really thinking about just staying with my old router and returning this if I can't get it working but I like the added speed and range this gives.

I am in the US, in michigan.  I have gigabit cable internet through WOW! and I own my own modem its a ARRIS SURFboard SB6190.

Nginx is a reverse proxy it is not a device and it runs on a server on my network and basically acts as a webserver.

Ok, this probably need loop back support. Something D-Link routers generally don't support anymore.

I don't think this has anything to do with my modem?  When I use my Asus router it works just fine.

It looks like there is an option to enable NAT loopback in the DD-WRT firmware but I can't get it to upload anymore.  When I go to the emergency recovery screen I upload the firmware and it just goes to This page can’t be displayed fairly quickly I've tried like 5 times now is there some sort of trick?  Before I got it to upload through the main GUI not even in emergency but that fails now too.

OK, I got it working.  Turns out when the new router was plugged in it was getting a different IP address than my other one and my domain's DNS was redirecting it to the wrong place   I am now using DD-WRT on the DIR-882 and Nginx is working.  Are there any advantages of staying on the D-link firmware?  I notice Smart Connect is gone but that is about it.  I block a lot of URLs and would need more than 24.

Ah, glad that was a simple fix. 

Once D-Link completes 160Mhz certification, they will update stock FW. You will have to check to see if Stock FW works for your Ngnix needs or not.

Is that why I'm not getting 1733mbps?  My laptop has an Intel 9260 in it and I cant seem to get anything more than 866.7Mbps which is the same as my old Asus RT-AC66U B1.

BTW I have a bunch of domains input various ways in my Website Filter and it doesn't seem to be doing anything I can still access myharmony.com and any site with the word playstation in it:

Does your adapter support the same on 5Ghz?
I don't think 160Mhz is needed for 1733Mb connection rate.

The web filtering option only blocks HTTP. Most sites now use HTTPS so it does not get blocked

I did get it working on DD-WRT and I used the 10-10 version instead of this newer version I found and it is stable so far.  I am getting over a gigabit on my couch with my router in the other room gotta see about filtering on dd-wrt now...

Nice. Glad it is working. Wish the D-Link firmware went back to offering more options and better filtering. Let us know how the web filtering works.

I ended up setting up OpenDNS with DNS-O-Matic in DD-WRT and then blocking them through OpenDNS only easy way to block https sites.
