DCS-2530L Cant setup email event (Test error.)
« on: March 30, 2019, 06:21:19 AM »

Created an event, but the test email fails to send. (Test error.)
I've tried using the Wizard and tried doing it manually.
Have tried Gmail and Hotmail

Here is my current setup:
SMTP Server Address        smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Server Port           587 (also tried 465)
Sender E-mail Address      myname@gmail.com
Receiver E-mail Address    myname@gmail.com
User Name                  myname
Password                   my e-mail account password
This server requires a secure connection (StartTLS)  (checked but also tried unchecked)

I have also made sure gmail is "allowing less secure apps"

I tried unplugging and plugged in the camera. Also tried to restart the ASUS router.

Thanks in advance for any help

Apparently this is a known issue and will be corrected with an update. Call tech support if your still are having issues. They had a work around for me but had to submit log files etc...

My personal experience, I spend many hours to set smtp account with no sucess, all forums and help guides with always the same response: Email Test Failed.

Finally, i decided to restore to factory default settings, and reapply smtp config as provided (and all other configs  >:( ). Immediately emails test result successfully and alerting begun to work as expected.

Hopes it helps.
