If I had a need for another 655 I would offer to buy it from you. Ebay sounds like a good way to unload it.

I use it as an access point, so no thank you  :P.  But I guessing a lot users would rather not take a loss on the router, when past firmware has shown this router can be great.

Hi,

This FW v1.32 stuff so reminds me of my time on the Netgear forums a few years back with the WGT-624 SuperG router.....it would run .11G mode prretty stable...but when people tried using the "superG" Mode (108Mbps wireless) many folks had all kinds of issues.... drops...resets...reboots....some had flaky power warts....  oh the fun we had in there....  Eventuall Netgear took down that Forum in favor of a new version of their forum program....suddenly months and months of posts and threads were gone !!  As if it never happened....

Normally I am quick to update my router FW (and most other devices that use FW that I have) but thank heavens I hesitated about this 1.3X FW....When I saw it couldn't be back dated...that was a HUGE red flag after my time with Netgear.

I REALLY like my DIR-655 (especially with FW 1.21)  It runs very stable, and inspite of a couple nusiance bugs in the FW like Time Format Errors in schedule settings and what-not....it is very functional.  I am very happy they came up with Share Port, altho a kludge it may be.... it mostly works here for me (and my family); I have posted a recent thread about my thoughts about SharePort issues being influenced/blocked by the XP firewall & settings.

Just some more $.02
