Alternative Connection to Home Theatre Vice HDMI
« on: December 10, 2007, 03:31:38 PM »

Believe it or not, I don't have an HDMI connection on my plasma TV.  I don't have any Component connections left on my TV either.  But, I tried out my DSM-520 by disconnecting the Component cables to my cable box and it worked!  However, I am growing weary of disconnecting and reconnecting the Component video to my cable box.  I know the Motorola DCH3200 has an HDMI input but I don't know if it would work or not.  Does anyone have the same problem?

Does your plasma TV have a DVI connection?
Have you thought about getting a component switcher.
I know that there are some that are sold for the gaming consoles that have IR.

Yeah, I would recommend the switch those work very well and you don't have to put the wear and tear on the cables and plugs.

If you have a DVI input on your television you can try an HDMI to DVI converter but I have seen a few issue with this with color, not detecting HDMI, or working on the DSM-520
