I've owned the DSR-250 a couple of years now and have never upgraded the firmware.

Serial number is QBKI3G7000480
Firmware is 2.11_WW
HW version is A3

I tried updating with DSR-250_Ax_FW3.17_WW

I get the following error in a red box:

Firmware is NOT available to be installed in NON-Supported Hardware machine, please use correct firmware version for your devices.

Ah, reading the release notes ... it appears I need to use the 3.12 WW firmware. Trying it out ...

You need to do 3.11 common firmware first then follow the release notes upgrade path for the other firmware version like 3.12 and then you can go directly to 3.17.

I got to 3.11 WW common firmware. I'm not having much success going to 3.12 though.

Did you do the 3.11B101H common firmware? If not then you do that and then do 3.12.

Success! Now on 3.13WW.

Yes had to figure out which hardware version and match with firmware. Also apply intermediate firmware before the common one.

Cool, now you should be able to go straight to 3.17.
