Download the D-Link Wi-Fi app on your mobile device from the Google Play store or Apple App Store and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device.
Step 1: Launch the D-Link Wi-Fi app from your mobile device that is connected to your device’s network.
Step 2: To add a new device, tap Install New Device.
Step 3: Tap Scan the QR code to scan the QR code on your quick installation card or tap Continue without scanning to manually choose a model.
Step 4: To scan the QR code, please hold your mobile device steady for 2-3 seconds towards the QR code that you want to scan. Skip the step if you manually selected your model from the list.
Step 5: Unplug your DSL or cable modem. Then tap Next.
Step 6: Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into Internet port on the router and the other end into your modem. Then, tap Next to continue.
Step 7: Power on the modem. Then tap Next.
Step 8: Power on your device. Then tap Next.
Step 9: After completing the booting process, tap Next.
Step 10: Wait while the D-Link Wi-Fi app is connecting to your device.
Step 11: To set up your Wi-Fi network, enter your Wi-Fi Network name (SSID) and Wi-Fi password. Then tap Next to continue.
Step 12: To protect your device, please give your device a password. Then tap Next to continue.
Step 13: Select how you want to update device firmware. Then tap Next to continue.
Step 14: A summary page displays. Tap Save to continue.
Step 15: Wait while the changes are being saved.
Skip to Step 20 if not setting up a COVR device.
Step 16: Place the remaining Covr Points, if any, to the area where you think you will need Wi-Fi the most. Then tap Next to continue.
Step 17: Power on the Covr Points and wait until the LED starts blinking orange. Then tap Next to continue.
Step 18: Wait while synchronizing the Covr Points.
Step 19: Make sure that the Covr LED turns solid white. Then, tap Next to continue.
Step 20: To register for a D-Link account to enable the Goggle Assistant, Alexa or D-Link defend, tap Register, or tap Not Now to skip.
Step 21: Tap FINISH to complete the setup process.
