so i got the x1860, and tried that "easy" setup on android. Got to the last point that the app said to check green light. No green light, just orange blinking.
App said to reset, so did that 3-4 times on phones and tablets. No go.

Ok then.ill try browser. Connect to the extender and go to dlinkap.local.



ok, ill leave password blank, -wrong password.
ill try Admin, - wrong password.

how am i supposed to enter that site?

Is Admin supposed to be non capitalized A? just admin?

Now on to next issue,-
This thing does not connect to my router for long,2 seconds then it disconnects again.
I connect to my 5g, and then it disconnects. To top it off, win 10 reports of unsecure wifi when I connect to it.

My shop gave me this thing after the tp link re450, crashed 4-5 times a day, but that one was easy to setup and the app worked.

now used 2 hours to get net on this thing.

What should i set omn that admin page?

What is the mfr and model# of the main host wifi router your using?

What is the distance between the main host router and the DAP?

its a Zyxel 8702, set up was done 3 meter from it.

I left it blinking orange over night, and in the morning it was green and working. Then I could move it to another location and still working.

+ point, its way faster than the rplionk re450.

but that short quick set up must be a joke. First that android app did not work, second it needed a night of orange blinking to work.

I would make contact with D-Link support and report your experiences with them. Ya, not a seemless setup and the status LED should be green soon after it's setup.
