Physically remove drives from DNS-320L
« on: August 30, 2021, 12:54:57 PM »

Hi all! After many good years my 320L is beginning to fritz out, so I'm ready to move the drives to another server. However, I'm not sure how to safely remove the drives from the unit. I don't have my paper copy of the manual anymore, and my searches haven't yielded anything helpful.

Is there a document or video somewhere that shows how to safely remove the drives?

Thank you in advance!

Clarifying the intent, as I saw some things which gave me concerns:

My goal is to pull the drives out and move them to a new Fileshare server. I don't want to format the drives, however, just have the new server access the files. However, if the drives are going to require formatting in the new server then I'll need to figure out how to back up the files elsewhere.

Anyone know if there are any issues with moving the drives from one server to another?

Thanks!
