Remotely Access Multiview of cameras?
« on: September 05, 2009, 02:39:53 PM »

I'm currently running 14 Dlink dcs900w cameras at my buisness. They are all hard wired though.
I have a 3.4 ghz xp pro machine with 3gb ram running dviewcam2.03. They are all set to record 24/7 at 30fps in high res to a 1TB  usb drive. Compression is set to high.
I currently connect to view using "logmein.com" software. Generally just checking in but watch video onsite.
My questions are the following:
1. Does using high compression effect the image quality noticably?
2. I have converted small portions of individual cam recordings to avi using the dviewcam software. and I have viewed individual cams recordings in the software playback. These seem to work ok but how can i convert full files for transport, how can I watch them simultaneuosly as i would when watching them live in the split screen mode. I know all the files are seperate and saved under each camera. But if I'm reviewing taped movement (not a box sitting in place) I need to go from cam to cam following subject. This is a pain in the A$$ when the travels is back and forth in many cams. ANY IDEAS PLEASE?
Any other software these cams would work on that might better accomplish my goals.
3. along the same line, can i connect remotely using dviewcam at home while dviewcam is recording and running at site without errors?
Thanks
Mike
