DVC-1000 LDAP connection to Sorenson.com

I put my DVC-1000 behind a router for the first time last week and I saw in the logs that it opened port 389 to sorenson.com.  Does anyone know why it would be checking in with a Sorenson directory?  I know that Sorenson made the DVC-1000 and that it is very similar to their VP-100, but I don't know why it would be set up to use their directory.  Most of their ideas are designed to get federal funding related to the ADA and assist deaf people with visual relay services (VRS), but the directory for VRS does not overlap with this particular directory (I tried having a VP-200 user look up my number and vice-versa).  So does anyone know what is going on?
