Can't See Device in Easy Search Utility
« on: September 23, 2009, 10:36:21 PM »

Probably something simple but I can't work it out.

Can access the volume and files on the drive and map it manually in Explorer no problem but when I run the Easy Search utility there is nothing in the devices. Since I can't see it in the utility I can't access its configuration and thats driving me crazy.

There is a goweb.htm on the volume but its just a pointer to a nonexistent login.asp that I expect should be in the same directory.

What am I doing wrong to stop the Device coming up in the Easy Search utility? IP addressing and subnet look fine... I don't understand. Its like it only half configured when I set the drives and volume up.

Perhaps not helpful for you, but I had a problem *somewhat like this and couldn't get satisfaction until I enabled NetBIOS in the settings for the network adapter. Not sure anyone else will want to do this, but it worked for me.

(*In my case, the NAS drive IP showed up in Easy Search but the utility wouldn't let me map.)
