Thanks for the link Macworth, but it does not make sense at all! I have a dlink dir-625, my previous router before dir-655. I am not a real technical guy, but I will try to explain my point. As far as I understand. Dir-625 and dir-655 use same wireless channels, hence the situation. Both of them are set on the same channel and same frequencies, but dir-655 dies out. This is my real question, but thanks for the link. It really explain the correct terminologies of wireless frequencies.

the OTB setting for the DIR-655 is to automatically choose the best channel.  Did you change that?  It could be that they are picking different channels.

You can play with the channel which will work well when you have your microwave On.

Is this DIR655 near the microwave, if it is move it as far away as possible.
Also,  The microwave operates in the same frequency band and if the microwave is old the door seals could be leaking. This is not good news for you.  If you think this is the case get the microwave checked out a.s.a.p

Mine did this too.... Along with cordless phone interference  >:(  >:(  >:(

Put it on Channel 11 and it "should" not cut out as much...

Unless you have upgraded the firmware to 1.32na and it will reboot all the time :)

This is true for any router that works in that bandwidth range. You need wireless in the 5GHz range and not 2.4. I don't know why the industry doesn't switch over. There is way too much congestion on 2.4GHz.
And it makes perfect sense. It has nothing to do with "leaky seals" on your microwave. It is what it is! 5GHz is where we need to be.

Agreed.

The router I am using now I bought to replace my unstable 655 with the 1.32na firmware had to be changed from auto to channel 11.

Except the range is horrible.  There are several parts of my house that my 825 will reach on 2.4 and not 5.
