Securing your network with the DIR-825
« on: October 02, 2009, 05:50:43 AM »

There are always questions about how to best secure your network and for every question there are many answers.  I can only offer one professionals opinion.  While not a D-Link expert, by any imagination, I'm a Microsoft and Cisco Security Expert.

I've found the members on this forum to be very helpful dealing with the various idiosyncrasies (I'm trying to keep it nice) of the DIR-825 device.  So I thought, if there is interest, that I would put together a short document to help all of you insure your network and data are as secure as possible with this device.

I'm not trying to upstage anyone and there are a number of ways accomplish better security than the device is configured for out of the box.

So, if you would like help accomplishing this, please fill out this short survey (it's to help be gauge interest and topics to cover:) http://links.waffull.com/dlink.

And feel free to offer any suggestions in the comment bock at the bottom of the poll.  I'm always open to suggestions, especially from the D-Link folks themselves and those of you who have spent MANY more hours working with this unit than I have.

Take care,
Marc
