Problems intel 5100 AGN
« on: October 04, 2009, 07:34:17 PM »

I am having problems with my DIR-655 with my Lenovo T400 (wireless = Intel 5100 AGN). Every couple of minutes, my laptop gives the message "windows was unable to log you on to the network XXXX" and I lose my connection. A couple minutes later the wireless reconnects to network XXXX and goes back and disconnects and the process repeats over and over. It renders my computer as unusable as I lose my VPN signal and I have to re-log in over and over again. I don't have this problem with my HP laptop, nor do I have this problem with my Dell netbook (both are using a broadcom 43XX chip). This is not an issue of signal strength on the Lenovo (I get 5-bars) nor is it an issue of the wireless card since the lenovo  doesn't lose connection at work. And I don't lose connection if I connect to the router with a wired connection.

Any thoughts?

I am running the DIR-655 in mixed g/b mode.
Transmission Rate = Best (auto)
Channel Width = 40MHz
Firmware 1.20

have you tried the newest driver of the intel site. I also have the intel 5100 card and have no issues.
Also set the 80211N Channelwidt to automatic and not to 20mzh.

Have fun.
