DIR-655 and DAP-1522
« on: October 05, 2009, 02:52:53 PM »

Has anyone here using the DIR-655/DAP-1522 combination achieved 300 Mbps connections or close to it? If so could you post your settings? The best I have achieved using the recommended settings in the sticky is 52 Mbps. Thanks in advance....

Yes, I'm getting 207-240 mbps connections in the same room at about 10m distance.
As the DAP is limited in its range due to the internal antennas be sure to have a good signal strength.
Check if there are other wireless devices as cell phones or bluetooth or ...
Keep them in at least 2m distance from your wireless bridge and router.

DAP fw 1.21:
manually switched to bridge mode
entered a static ip address
configured WPA2-PSK/AES
QOS: off
MAC cloning: off
clients connected to the DAP also have entered static ip addresses

DIR fw 1.32NA:
WISH: off
WPS: off
QOS: off
WMM: on (Adv/Wireless)
Short GI: on

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. I am using FW 1.21 on the 1522 and I have kept the FW on my 655 at 1.21 after reading the horror stories on this forum. I tried using your suggested settings and was able to see 130 Mbps when I had the 1522 sitting right next to the 655 in my office but when I moved the 1522 to its permanent position in my home theater setup the speed fell back down to 26 Mbps. I changed both the 1522 and 655 back to their previous settings and am now seeing 52 Mbps with a signal strength of ~ 80%.
The signal is traveling through a couple of walls so perhaps that is what is holding me back.
