new DIR -655 and Pannaway modem/router for internet and IPTV
« on: October 05, 2009, 09:08:27 PM »

Hello,
I have had the DIR-655 hw A4 1:20 firmware. I have 3 wi-fi devices, 2 laptops and a Wii. I have 3 desktop computers connected by Cat 5. I have some questions, First I would like to point out how we use the Internet for. It has an IPTV feature we use for a single tv right now and has 8 gig set aside for the IPTV portion at the ISP. My Plan is 3 megs down and 1 meg up. I do online gaming, my sons are home schooled over the net and my wife tellecommutes online.my youngest- she likes to watch scooby doo on netflix.com. I am curious if I should upgrade the firmware to 1.21 because I play call of duty 4 online among other online games.I have a usb printer hooked up to the router but shareport utility does not see it. I dont want to mess up my routerwith a bad firmware or get hit with performance issues.I use opendns on all computers and the dlink as well.I have wep configured and a pin for the guest account. any advice is welcome, we are adding a 2nd IPTV line to my computer for multi-media as well as gaming in the next week or two.

thank you
