Well, I am still waiting for this new Beta.  I have been a long time fan of D-Link, have had the 4300 forever and based on the reviews of that and personal experience I went ahead and bought the 4500.  I guess I should have read the reviews and warnings for the 4500...I have the 1.15 firmware that it said I could upgrade to when I went to the firmware upgrade page and it did that for me to 1.15b03 and well that was a major fiasco.  I went ahead and got just 1.15 on there now and it works ok...  My wireless uploads from my laptop to my Windows Home Server is slow as molasses at best and my downloads scream...  Wired everything is peachy but obviously people get a Wireless router to be able to use the Wireless features in it.  I have another 27 days left before I can't return this for a refund(I always buy from Amazon.com) and I will give you guys at D-Link a chance to fix this in your so called 1.21 beta release 03 firmware.  I thought that was supposed to come out today????  Hope it's out on Monday if not I am getting this router which I am sure could be as good, if not better, than the DGL-4300 and returning it to Amazon for a new Netgear 3700.  That has dual band on all the time, which sounds like it would work great...too bad it wasn't implemented in this router.  Anyways, if you are releasing the 1.21 b 03 and need a tester, I am all down for that because of that doesn't work, I can still return my router to Amazon...

I'm hoping this is released soon. I've been having to power cycle my router every 3 days for weeks now, and its very, very, very annoying. I've had this router probably going on a year, and for the first few months I felt it was great, but over the past 6 months I know it was causing my internet to drop, they couldn't pinpoint it, they never saw the modem go down, so I gave in and updated my firmware to 1.21, and it fixed that issue, but another arose. (Lock up every 3 days,  requires power cycle and its good).

Agreed, I have to reset my router ever 7 hours or so. Wireless performance is also ridiculous.

I'm not sure what everyones network is like, however if you have N/G devices, please try to use the following settings:

-DNS Relay Disabled (Unchecked)
-Advanced DNS Service (Disabled/Unchecked)
-Disable WISH
-No GameFuel rules, but can be active
-N/G Network 2.4 GHz/ WPA2-AES

With ALL of that disabled, and settings as such i was able to achieve 31 days of uptime.  So far no problems, but I'm still monitoring my stuff.

I'll keep updating, so please be patient.

I run my network very basic, I have 4 PC's, 3 of them are typically in use around the same time. Those 3 are on the LAN, the 4th is on the WLAN, along with the PS3 and Xbox360.
Also all 3 are mostly used for gaming, we play WoW, Aion, and at times some FPS. I went ahead and changed my settings to match yours above, I only had to disable wish, DNS relay, and changed my network to only do N/G, and set it to WPA2 only and AES only. Doing this my router came back up and was able to ping out fine, but I was unable to browse, I turned DNS Relay back on and its working again now.

When disabling DNS Relay, you would most likely have to disable/enable you network card or reboot to get your network interface to "find" your ISPs DNS servers.  Otherwise your network card would still have been trying to get DNS from the router.

just put the DNS from your isp in the network card problem resolve!

Is there a DL link for this yet or is it being emailed out?

I have the 1.21 and have to restart every day, and wireless drops off when transferring large files(larger than 300mb).

Wow, that is a nice catch you got there. Paying premium for the router which main feature "GameFuel" should be disabled in order to run the router...Why not make it short and suggest buy a new router instead?

I'm not too hip on the disable all of the advertised features to make it work thing myself.  That's like selling a car with ac only to tell the buyer in a couple of months that they can't use the ac if they want to drive the car.

Okay, first...it was to get things stable for those who DONT have the new Beta firmware to try.  Secondly, I didn't say to disable it.  You can keep it enabled, I just said don't use any rules.  It still prioritizes traffic..

So, how is the beta holding up? I am curious to know, because when I sell it, I want it to be a solid piece of equipment, not a broken weed.  ;D
